Embellished Shoes Are Taking Over Fall 2026 — From Jeweled Sneakers to Feathered Boots

While the minimalist kitten heel thong sandal rose to become the ubiquitous shoe of the summer , the pared-back aesthetic is foiled in the fashion world by the simultaneous prevalence of embellished footwear — whether it’s sneakers, heels or boots, the aesthetic will stick around for fall.
One buzzy example of the trend is Miu Miu’s revived Bubble sneaker , an archival style earning its moniker from its distinctive sole. The style was brought back in a soft, deconstructed manner with a suede and leather upper, and a special version, which debuted on the Paris runway in March, is made with technical nylon embellished with precious jeweled embroideries.

Bejeweled sneakers and shoes have been having a moment at other brands as well, and celebrities are embracing the aesthetic — from Dua Lipa wearing the Asics x Completedworks Gel-Kayano 20 sneaker in New York City to SZA wearing custom Vans embellished with gemstones created by Rachel Goatley during Paris Fashion Week earlier in the year.
Embellishment doesn’t come just by way of crystals and gemstones. Recall Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’ Prada fall 2026 show presented in Milan in February, which included Victorian-esque lace-up boots covered in baby blue or white feathers. The same aesthetic was applied to feather-embellished satin pumps with lace-up detailing at the vamp. The lineup of shoes also included pumps and boots with intricate beading and dangling jewels lending the shoes a chandelier-like quality.
Dior has also been on the embellishment train with a particular penchant for florals, with designs coming from Jonathan Anderson and design director of shoes Nina Christen. Fall 2026 footwear designs included lily pad heels, sandals with neatly folded rosettes and more 3D floral shoes . Let’s not forget the house’s maximalist embellished shoes featured in the fall 2026 couture show this summer, either — a direction Matthieu Blazy went with at Chanel , too, with straw-covered shoes and heels depicting entire garden scenes in his couture presentation.
In another example of embellished formal footwear, Tyla embraced Christian Louboutin’s Rosalie Jewel sandal to set off a minimalist look in London in July. The curvaceous strap design is embellished with hand-set crystals of various sizes, a sparkling complement to the shoe’s signature red sole.
Embellished footwear is by no means a new development in fashion, but designers and celebrities continue to inject the concept with fresh twists — so expect to see crystals, feathers, florals and more decorating the shoes of fall 2026.
