Inditex Group’s Bershka Brand Launches First Permanent Store in the U.S.

Bershka opened in the upscale Aventura Mall and is expected to open additional stores in the Miami area and the South.

Bershka, the trend-driven, contemporary, youth-oriented fashion brand operated by Spain’s Inditex Group, has entered the U.S. with its first permanent store.
The Bershka store, which opened Thursday, is located in the upscale Aventura Mall in north Miami, and signals the brand’s intentions to further its international expansion. Additional Bershka stores are expected to open in the U.S., initially in the Miami area and the South. Earlier this year, Bershka opened its first store in Brazil. The company operates more than 850 stores in 60-plus markets around the world, according to Inditex .

“Bershka has built a strong connection with U.S. customers over many years through bershka.com, and the opening of our first U.S. store at Aventura Mall marks an important milestone for the brand,” Dilip Patel, president of Inditex USA, said in a statement. “This launch reflects Inditex’s selective growth strategy in action and our confidence in the opportunities we see in this market.

“Bershka’s growth in the U.S. will continue to play an important role in the group’s strategy as we continue to strengthen the depth of our brand portfolio and access to our fashion offering for customers across the market,” Patel added. “Miami is known for its unique culture, musical appreciation and being a place where social connectivity is praised. Naturally, we looked to Miami as the ideal place to introduce the in-store Bershka experience.”
Patel also noted that the Bershka U.S. launch supports Inditex’s long-term commitment to the U.S. market. “We have exciting new projects underway, including in New York with the refurbishment of our iconic Fifth Avenue Zara store and the relocation of our Zara store on 34th Street. Relying on our guiding principles, we are prioritizing selective and profitable growth to boost our presence in the U.S., a region that continues to be key to our business.”
Additionally, Patel said Inditex is planning more store openings for both Bershka and Massimo Dutti in the U.S. “to complement the growth of our Zara business and strengthen our portfolio of brands.”
In a separate statement, Inditex said the Aventura Mall was picked for the first U.S. Bershka store because it’s “one of the most recognized shopping centers in the U.S. with strong commercial access points to Gen Z, young Millennials and Miami’s tourism base.” The Aventura Mall also houses Massimo Dutti and Zara stores, as well as Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Macy’s and an extensive lineup of luxury brands including Prada, Dior, Hermès, Gucci, Bulgari, Louis Vuitton, Cartier and Valentino.
Bershka did not indicate the size of its Aventura store, though its stores tend to be sizable, and range between 10,000 and 20,000 square feet.
“The new storefront will feature the brand’s three major collections, Bershka, BSK and MAN, displaying each collection’s fashion through a distinct and cohesive palette of stone, wood and ceramic,” Inditex indicated in a statement. The Bershka store also enables customers to shop the brand online at bershka.com, and has areas for returns, picking up online orders and self-checkout. The store is designed with large graphics, lots of elbow room and outfits displayed on metallic platforms.
For 2025, Bershka generated sales of 3.29 billion euros, compared to 2.93 billion euros in 2024. Pre-tax profit came to 657 million euros last year compared to 548 million euros the year before.
According to the statement, “Bershka sits at the intersection of mainstream culture and emerging subcultures, bringing together fashion, music and digital culture to inspire new generations to explore and express their identity.”
Back in January, Oscar Garcia Maceiras, chief executive officer of Inditex, was quoted by media as saying, “The U.S. is a very relevant market for us, and we continue to see opportunities to keep on executing our strategy of selective growth in that market. 2026 will also be full of new, exciting projects.”
The store is not Bershka’s first physical brick-and-mortar presence in the U.S. In October 2017, Bershka opened a large, two-level pop-up in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood that was ostensibly intended to celebrate the company’s launch of Bershka’s online store in the U.S.
