A modern home cook and starving artist from the baroque period banter and bicker in the 14-part effort tailored for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
Cuisinart has cooked up a sitcom-inspired premise for its first campaign tailored to short-form video platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Young consumers have flocked to short-form video , but algorithmically-driven feeds can make it difficult to weave together a traditional brand story, resulting in “A Work of Cuisinart: The Starving Artist” taking a non-linear approach across 14 episodes.
The work builds on an existing “A Work of Cuisinart" platform, but seeks to break from static imagery and product-heavy messaging to instead put the focus on entertainment , a trend that is again gaining traction in 2026. Branded entertainment is evolving to center more on quick-hit vertical video series and even soap opera-inspired microdramas to catch consumers’ attention in the thumb scrolling TikTok era.
Publicis agency Fallon is behind “A Work of Cuisinart: The Starving Artist,” which follows a talented home chef as she banters and bickers with an eccentric roommate from the 17th century who’s nevertheless consistently impressed by her cooking and Cuisinart’s capabilities. Kelsey Taylor directed the humorous videos while Li’s food styling helps to shore up the brand’s culinary bona fides. Six Cuisinart offerings, including an ice cream maker, skillet and air fryer, appear across the series.
Cuisinart, which is owned by the privately-held Conair Corporation, has been ramping up video marketing in other areas as well. The brand recently ran an ad with Amazon’s Creative Agent artificial intelligence tool that generated 18% higher detailed page views and a 14% reduction in cost per detail page view when compared to a traditional brand-produced video.
Agency Global Overview collaborated with Cuisinart on the AI video test, which came together in roughly four weeks — a far shorter timeline than typical shoots for — and required human oversight to ensure the creative met the brand’s standards.
